Mentoring
Where coaching supports you to tap into your own wisdom, mentoring provides you with practical guidance on mapping out the road ahead or tackling a specific challenge in a given field of interest.
A mentor has walked a path similar to the one you are on and can share and exchange skills, knowledge and expertise developed via their lived experience. This could be proposing solutions, connecting you with resources, introducing you to other players in your field or simply telling you that your experience at this stage of the journey is completely normal and you’re doing great!
There is no ‘one-size fits all’ or ‘right way’ to approach something; as such we see the Mentor/Mentee relationship as a two-way learning relationship, which values diversity in positionality and perspective.
Members of Coaching for Collective Transformation come from diverse backgrounds and professions, and we collectively have experience and expertise in the following:
Local to international activism, movement building and advocacy on themes such as climate justice, gender justice, and inclusive peace
Community-building
Working in and navigating the (international) non-profit sector
Creating diverse, inclusive, and safe(r) groups, organisations, and spaces
If any of the above speak to your journey and the issues you are grappling with, mentoring may be right for you. We all offer some combination of the three modalities (coaching, mentoring, and facilitation) for different niches and target groups. You can find more information on who does what and for whom in our profiles.
